Masked heART work

These masks are hanging on the wall located in our living room.

The mask on top was made by Savannah in 2003 (she was 9), it was given to me as a Father’s Day present.

The material of this mask was made from the corner-side of a cardboard box.  As for the paint, I’m sure U can see there are a few different hearts; a white one in middle at the bottom and then a red one on the left side at the bottom.  These hearts were not intentional, they simply appeared when Savannah decided to throw and drip paint on it. From what I was told, the throwing the paint and allowing it to drip was to give it a more natural effect and not so perfect look.

I’m not sure about U, it looks perfect to me!

The second mask was made by Brett in 2007 (he was 10).

As part of a school project Brett was to make art piece in pottery class. It was his idea to create a cool mask so we could hang it by Savannah’s mask on the wall.  This worked for me – MORE is better!!

I love the colors he chose, as well as the over all design, especially how the nose on the mask is 3 dimensional – making it more like a face then a mask.
