Common heart

Coming across a perfect heart in a leaf has to be the most common heart I have found over the years.
It puzzles me… why do the insects eat the leafs in the shape of a heart? More so, stop when they do and then move on.
I found this leaf in my back yard while mowing the lawn. Currently, U will find this particular leaf laying at the base of a house plant in our home.
