Junkyard Heart

Junkyard Heart

Recently a friend had mentioned to me that he saw hearts wherever he went. He said he saw common, everyday items in the shape of heart all over the place. He’d see stains on the road in the shape of heart, chipped paint on car in the shape of a heart. He even saw leaves and paw prints in the shape of hearts.

I nodded my head but thought it was pretty silly. I never see hearts anywhere unless I look through my daughter’s coloring books or tween magazine.

I even asked my son if he ever saw hearts. I was taking him to pick up his car after he’d gotten it towed. It was a long drive and we’d run out of conversation. He also thought the whole thing was pretty silly but being a college student was sure there was a logical explanation.

Right as he said that we both looked up and saw this majestic sculpted broken heart on the top of the crushing machine in the junkyard.

Maybe there is something to this seeing hearts thing.
